As our Marketplace Associate, you will work with the Manager in all areas of its operations.  

Position Title: Marketplace Associate
Location: Orland Park
Reports to: Marketplace Manager
Employment Type: Part-time / Weekends
Salary: $18.00 Per Hour, plus eligibility to earn monthly bonuses.
Job Summary:
 
As the Marketplace Associate, you will be part of our dynamic team that is dedicated to transforming and enhancing spaces with unique accessories!  In this vital role, you will ensure seamless customer transactions and deliver exceptional service by taking care of the customer from beginning to end.  To add a bit of creativity to your day, your responsibilities will also include gift-wrapping packages.  Yes, we will train you on this!  You will manage all customer interactions at the checkout, handle payments, and support customers throughout their shopping experience. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position.  Weekend shifts are required.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Customer Greeting:
o    Responsibility: Greet customers when entering or leaving the marketplace.
 
Help us build a community hub where customers find not just products, but inspiration!  
o    Responsibility: Encourage customers to explore complementary products and enhance their overall shopping experience. Promote additional products that assist customers in creating a more complete visual effect in their homes.  Effectively assist customers looking for gifts and inform them of our gift-wrapping service.
 
 
Cross-Selling and Product Introduction:
o    Responsibility: Your role combines creativity and commerce—your ideas can make a difference as you cross-sell and introduce new products to customers!
 
 
 
Transaction Management:
o    Responsibility: Manage transactions with customers, ensuring pricing accuracy.
 
 
Merchandise Restocking:
o    Responsibility: Restock merchandise according to inventory needs.
 
 
2.    Price Verification:  
o    Responsibility: Scan goods periodically and ensure pricing is accurate.
 
 
3.    Returns and Exchanges:
o    Responsibility: Handle merchandise returns and exchanges.
 
 
 
4.    Coupon and Promotion Redemption:
o    Responsibility: Redeem coupons, gift certificates, discounts, and bonus promotions accurately.
 
 
5.    Store Cleanliness:
o    Responsibility: Maintain clean and tidy checkout and showroom areas.
 
 
6.    Packaging Assistance:
o    Responsibility: Bag, box, or gift-wrap packages for customers.
 
 
Qualifications:
 
·         Previous experience in a customer-facing position.
·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
·         Flexibility to work weekend shifts.
  • Basic PC knowledge.
  • Familiarity with cash registers and POS.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management. 
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Customer satisfaction oriented.
